ALBERTA ENERGY SERVICES · UPDATED OCTOBER 2, 2026

An oilfield customer owes you. Find the billing hold first.

Oil and gas service invoices can pass through a field approver, a prime contractor and a central accounts-payable team. A missing ticket or vendor-portal detail can stall an otherwise agreed bill. Check that handoff before treating silence as refusal.

Where RemitRight fits

For an agreed overdue balance and an appropriate customer mobile contact, Remi can follow up by text and offer full payment or a voluntary 3- or 5-month plan. The customer sees the total 3% or 5% plan fee before authorizing checkout. There is no RemitRight business subscription, setup fee or collection commission; standard card processing fees apply.

The plan is not a cash advance or a guarantee of payment. Each installment must succeed.

Three checks for an Alberta service invoice

01

Match the work to the bill

Check the field ticket, signed work order, purchase order, rate sheet and customer legal entity. A site supervisor may approve the work while a different team pays the invoice.

02

Find the accounts-payable hold

Confirm that the invoice entered the operator or prime contractor’s vendor system with the right job number, tax details and supporting documents. Ask AP for a specific missing item or remittance reference.

03

Separate a dispute from a cash-flow delay

If the scope, hours or charges are disputed, stop payment requests and have the owner resolve the issue. If the balance is agreed and the payer needs time, a voluntary plan may be useful.

If the payer confirms approval but cannot pay in full, ask whether an installment choice would help. If they say a cheque or EFT is already in transit, reconcile it before contacting them again. See our B2B accounts-payable checklist for the broader process.

Construction rights need a separate review

Some Alberta oilfield work may be covered by construction prompt-payment or lien rules; other invoices may not be. The contract, work and dates matter. RemitRight does not calculate lien deadlines, monitor holdbacks, issue legal notices or preserve rights. If a construction deadline might apply, review it with a qualified professional now, alongside any voluntary payment discussion.

Have one approved invoice that is past due?

Review the amount and contact, then try RemitRight with that invoice. You decide when to authorize a first message.
